UK Tour 2002
Day 15
Sunday 31st March 2002

Nikki taking a photo in Pennan (The colours were as shown!)

Pennan
Given we’re staying right next to the sea, as in you step out the door and the sea is there, a few steps away, I didn’t really take advantage of the situation.

Instead I spent the day catching up writing the diary. The idea of having the sea nearby, and a place down the road where I could go and chat to people if I felt a bit lonely, felt like the kind of environment that I’d love to work in. Of course reality wouldn’t be like that. The relationships that would develop at the bar would probably become complicated and very likely factionalise in time, at times being so isolated may be difficult and so on. But for an afternoon and evening it was an enjoyable pretence.

Pennan Inn
Eventually I got too tired to work any more and went down to the Pennan Inn. Unlike the night before the small bar room had just a small group in. I’d spoken to a few of them the night before so we were welcomed in to the conversation which was mainly jovial and familiar.
That’s the trouble with a quiet place, outside of some nice views and a relaxing time all that’s left is to slag other people off and I can’t do that on here …………… or can I?

The sea tends to batter the houses during storms
that’s why so many are built with their gable to the sea front
